A+ Certification is a testing program sponsored by CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association) that assesses basic computer service technology skills and certifies the competency of entry-level service technicians in the computer industry. Earning A+ Certification means that the individual possesses the knowledge and skills, essential for a successful entry-level (6 months experience) computer service technician, as defined by experts from companies across the industry.

CompTIA sets the industry-wide, internationally recognized standard of basic competency levels in the field of computer service. CompTIA certification standards help maximize the efficiency in recruiting, hiring and promoting employees, help fill the needs of today's information technology workforce by providing individuals with skills in demand, and give job seekers identifiable career paths, transferable skills and credentials that are industry recognized. Anyone who wants an internationally recognized credential as a competent entry-level computer service professional can take the A+ Certification Exam. The exam is administered by Thomson Prometric and VUE Testing Centers, and covers a broad range of hardware and software technologies, but are not related to any vendor-specific products.
